Barcelona have allegedly run out of money to complete the Nou Camp redevelopment.
Building work on the new-look stadium began after the 2022-23 season, with initial plans to partially reopen 17 months later.
However, the club did not return to the stadium until November last year.
The Nou Camp had been due to be completed by now, but the final finishing date has also been pushed back.
That is partially due to insufficient funds.
Spanish outlet Marca has claimed that Barcelona chiefs need more cash to complete the ambitious project.
They are on the verge of completely spending all of the £1.25billion that was loaned to them for the stadium.
Neither the stadium itself nor the additional aspects, including the redevelopment of Palau Blaugrana – home of the Barcelona basketball and futsal teams – and the surrounding district, are completed.

Club president Joan Laporta is now expected to ask for more cash in a bid to finally complete the building work.
The latest phase of the redevelopment has focused on building the two VIP tiers and the third tier.
Barca chiefs are now waiting for the Barcelona City Council to schedule the upcoming phases and indicate how many seats can be added in each.
The current phase, which will finalise the 9,400 VIP seats, is expected to continue until next summer.
Once that is fully completed, the final stage, which involves the construction of the compression rings and the roof, will begin at the start of the 2027-28 season.
The Spanish champions have reportedly asked Barcelona City Council for permission to use the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys during the first half of the 2027/28 campaign.
The request has been made as a precaution while work continues on the huge redevelopment of the Camp Nou.
